Jeet Kune Do

Grapling and striking techniques

Progressive JKD or Jeet Kune Do is a continuation of a fighting philosophy developed by the late Bruce Lee, taking it's roots from many different sources such as Wing Chun, Western Boxing, Gung Fu, and Fencing.  This was later expanded upon by Bruce Lee developing JKD-Kali with Dan Inosanto and incorporating the Filipino Fighting Arts into the JKD style because they worked so closely together sharing many base principles.

Kali (also known as Eskrima or Arnis) is one of many traditional Filipino weapons based martial arts which are being constantly modified and added to. We use the term Kali in our JKD-Kali to encompass our use of a blend of Filipino Martial Arts, these being from many different backgrounds & sources.

Such as our weapon based “Kali”, grappling based “Dumog” styles, the “Mano a Mano” empty hand systems.

This allows us to blend together many Filipino fighting styles in a true JKD fashion, by striping away the non essential & refining what we learn for use in the over all application of our art. The primary weapon for this art is the rattan (bamboo) stick, but we also train with bladed & other improvised weapons.  Our full contact arm the "Strike Team" is one of the most successful Stickfighting clubs in the UK.  We have many World, European and British title holders as members of the club, year after year producing champions in their field.
